About Us

Brockton Avenue Elementary School is a Title I school in the Los Angeles Unified School District. Brockton Avenue Elementary School is located in West Los Angeles in close proximity to the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Various UCLA organizations work along side Brockton Avenue to provide enrichment opportunities to our students. The Brockton Avenue Elementary School currently serves approximately 210 UTK - 5th grade students in 8 general education classrooms and 4 special education classrooms. The school population consist of Asian America, Hispanic, African American, Russian, and Anglo students.

Brockton Avenue Elementary School was constructed in 1912 and was formerly known as Sixteenth Street School. In June 6, 1917 Sixteenth School was converted into a combined Grammar and Junior High School and was renamed Woodrow Wilson School. In 1924 the construction of University High School brought about a reconfiguration of grade spans making Woodrow Wilson Grammar school up to 6th grade. The school was renamed in July 1, 1932 to Brockton Avenue after much confusion with other Woodrow Wilson named schools.
